Guide

Facilitator Guide

Guide to facilitating “Making Meaning,” the small group process for

Making Meaning Video

For teaching the small group process. Includes an introduction to
“Making Meaning” and an example of a group participating in the process,

Program Leader Package

Pastoral Care Video

Recommended as an optional resource in candidate training. It is a general
overview of pastoral care that clearly defines how pastoral care is
different than social visiting. Examples of pastoral care in healthcare
settings are included. Also appropriate for recruiting BeFrienders. VHS
format only. More detailed information about the video.

John Michael Talbot double CD
"Be
Exalted/The Lord's Supper"

This double CD includes the song "Holy Ground" used in the "Foundations"
workshop. The CD as a whole is a mixture of classical and folk
influences, recorded with choral and orchestral accompaniment. See

Multi-Message Pen

These ballpoint pens with burgundy comfort grips have white barrels with the BeFriender Ministry logo on the side. With each click of the pen a
different message is displayed on the barrel. There are 6 messages in
all, including the 4 Foundation Principles. Provide these with the
Candidate Workbooks at the start of training.

Tree Ring with stand

Can be used during the "Our Sense of Call" session (Trainer Guide page
32) instead of a candle. Includes a stand. Approximately 6- to 8-inch

Note cards can be used in multiple ways to increase awareness of your
BeFriender Ministry program. Use them to invite individuals to an
information session; provide them to BeFrienders to send messages to
individuals who have experienced a transition; or use them to thank
people who have helped make your program successful. The note cards are
flat (non-folding) and are available in 2 designs. Both designs are
blank on the back. 4¼ in. x 5½ in. Package of 20 with envelopes. Choose
one design or 10 of each design.
