Training network guidelines

To qualify to be listed on the Training Network:

  •  Each church will have a trained program leader in place

  •  If each church has 4 or more BeFriender candidates to be trained, program leaders from all churches will co-train

  •  If a church is sending 3 or fewer candidates to another church for training:

    • The program leaders can discern together the responsibilities for training, including the option to co-train

    • Program leaders from each church will need to stay in communication

    • If program leaders are not co-training, the trainer will need to observe attitudes, skills. and behaviors of the candidates from the other church(es) and share them with the candidates' program leader(s) for Taking Stock

    • Discernment and the one-to-one Taking Stock should be handled by the candidates' program leader

    • Each program leader orders Candidate Workbooks and other materials for their own candidates

  •  Regardless of the location of the training, ongoing supervision and meetings should be conducted at the BeFriender  candidates' own church, except where churches have formed a cluster
